Prelude: “Cantilene” by William Reed

Hymn: “You Servants of God”

Prayer

Teach us, O God, to recognize the divine presence among us. You come to us through the changing of the seasons, the beauty of starlight, and the majesty of the hills. May we see the grandeur of your handiwork and recognize your continuing providence.

You come to us through the pleas of the hungry, the destitute, and the persecuted. May we treat them with the same dignity, love and generosity that we would extend to You.

You come to us through the tug of conscience and through the urgings of the Holy Spirit. May we be open to your power within us. May our lives become better than they are. Help us to turn our weaknesses into strengths and our failures into successes.

We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Special Music: “Pass Me Not, O Gentle Saviour”
