“Vision des Belsazar” (1635) by Jusepe de Ribera
Prelude: “When I survey the Wondrous Cross" by Paul Fey
Hymn: “Sing Praise to the Father”
Prayer
Help us to rejoice and be glad in this day, and all the days of the week ahead. Help us now to stretch our minds so numbness cannot set in. Help us to be aware of those around us, and help us to be aware of Your presence.
Help us this week to grow in acceptance rather than impatience. Open our eyes to see the miracle of sunrise and the silent joy of sunset; and open our souls so that Your presence might invade us and make us whole, both to ourselves and to those around us. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.
Special Music: “The Lord’s My Shepherd”(Brother James’ Air)

The Scriptures
“Immediately the fingers of a human hand appeared and began writing on the plaster of the wall of the royal palace, next to the lampstand. The king was watching the hand as it wrote. 6 Then the king’s face turned pale, and his thoughts terrified him. His limbs gave way, and his knees knocked together.”
(Dan 5:5-6)
“You will hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place,
but the end is not yet.” (Matt 24:6)

Lovely service. Interesting sermon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. I wanted to make this comment "for the record" and therefore in "hard copy" sort of.
ReplyDeleteThis was your first Sermon as our full time pastor (not quite official yet) and it was in our Church home even though I only heard and saw it virtually. I regret that I could not attend in person. Congratulations and I consider it one of your best. Welcome.
Sincerely,
Graeme
