Prelude: "Fantasia on Two Hymn Tunes" (Sagina and CWM RHONDDA) by Denis Bedard

Hymn: “Great God, Your Love Has Called Us”

Prayer of Thanksgiving:

Eternal God, in whose name our fathers and mothers founded McPhail Baptist Church so many years ago; we pray that the spirit that kindled their lives might burn within us. We thank You for every memory which this day revives of strong faith, Christian service and Christ-like character, and for the cloud of witnesses from days gone by surrounding our worship here. Deepen our gratitude for sacrifices made by those who have gone before us, and who found in your church refreshment and comfort, inner peace, and strength to serve You.

May our church’s past be an encouragement to the present and a promise for the future. This we pray in the name of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, and the reason for why we are here. Amen.
