Prelude on 'Slane’ by William France

Favourite Hymns

Ye Servants of God

Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim,

And publish abroad his wonderful name;

The name all victorious of Jesus extol;

His kingdom is glorious, he rules over all.

God ruleth on high, almighty to save;

And still he is nigh—his presence we have;

The great congregation his triumph shall sing,

Ascribing salvation to Jesus our King.

Then let us adore and give him his right,

All glory and power, all wisdom and might:

All honour and blessing, with angels above,

And thanks never ceasing, and infinite love.

Open My Eyes, That I May See

Open my eyes, that I may see

Glimpses of truth thou hast for me;

Place in my hands the wonderful key

That shall unclasp and set me free.

Refrain:

Silently now I wait for thee, ready, my God, thy will to see;

Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hear

Voices of truth thou sendest clear,

And while the wave notes fall on my ear,

Everything false will disappear.

Open my mouth, and let me bear

Gladly the warm truth everywhere;

Open my heart, and let me prepare

Love with thy children thus to share.

Lead On, O King Eternal

Lead on, O King Eternal, the day of march has come;

Henceforth in fields of conquest your tents shall be our home.

Through days of preparation your grace has made us strong,

And now, O King Eternal, we lift our battle song.

Lead on, O King Eternal, till sin’s fierce war shall cease,

And holiness shall whisper the sweet Amen of peace;

For not with swords loud clashing, nor roll of stirring drums,

With deeds of love and mercy the heavenly kingdom comes.

Lead on, O King Eternal, we follow, not with fears;

For gladness breaks like morning wher-e’er your face appears;

Your cross is lifted o’er us; we journey in its light;

The crown awaits the conquest: lead on, O God of might.

“THE WAY OF WISDOM”

Rev. Steve Zink

“Happy are those who find wisdom” Prov 3:13

“Knowledge of the Holy is insight” Prov 9:10

Special Music: “I Need Thee Every Hour”

Ernie Cox

From Ernie: One of my favourite hymns.  I’ve arranged the first verse and chorus with substitution chords, and then it segues into a second verse and two choruses in gospel style.

Hymn: “Sing Praise To God”

Sue Sparks

Sing praise to God who reigns above, the God of all Creation.

The God of power, the God of love, the God of our salvation.

My soul with comfort rich he fills, and every grief he gently stills:

To God all praise and glory!

We sought the Lord in our distress; O God, in mercy hear us.

Our Saviour saw our helplessness and came with peace to cheer us.

For this we thank and praise the Lord, who is by one and all adored;

To God all praise and glory!

Let all who name Christ’s holy name give God the praise and glory.

Let all who know his power proclaim aloud the wondrous story.

Cast every idol from its throne; the Lord is God, and he alone;

To God all praise and glory!

Message from Lynda Cox:

Dear Friends of McPhail: What strange times we are living in!  Invisible enemies keeping us isolated. Who could have imagined it? We have survived the first 7 days of quarantine. The apartment is spacious, the terrace is huge, the piano and sound equipment are working, the rose garden has been pruned and is now blooming, the groceries delivered to us have made tasty meals, cornetti delivered every morning, the weather is perfect 23-30 degrees, the sunsets glorious....yet we are anxious to get out and actually FEEL the love.....

The Sunday morning bells continue to ring as I write this. I have no idea if people here are actually going to church or staying home, like you, and enjoying their church service by video. The streets are eerily quiet save for the cooing of the pigeons. A warm rain has begun to fall. 7 days before Ollie is in our arms......we can make it.

Ciao until next week.
